Caravan hook-ups & 32A single-phase leads

Choose the blue 16A lead for a matching caravan or motorhome hook-up. For larger setups with matching 32A supplies and equipment, compare the 32A single-phase options below.

  • Check the site supply and your vehicle inlet.
  • Match the amperage, pins and voltage at both ends.

For tent camping, use a purpose-made tent hook-up unit with the appropriate RCD protection. Check your campsite rules before using adaptors; many sites prohibit hook-up splitters.

A different vehicle inlet?

This adaptor is for equipment with a 32A inlet using a suitable 16A supply. It is only needed when your connections differ.

  • Read the connection from supply → equipment.
  • An adaptor does not increase the power available.

Most standard 16A caravan hook-ups connect directly using a matching lead. A 16A → 32A adaptor keeps the supply limited to 16A.

Running a campsite or larger setup?

These single-phase site boxes are for suitable managed distribution setups. They are not presented as complete tent hook-up units.

  • Match the box input to your supply.
  • The combined load must stay within the input rating.

MCBs provide overcurrent protection. Check the required RCD protection separately; an MCB-only box does not provide that protection.

Which lead should I use for a caravan?

For a suitable UK 16A caravan or motorhome hook-up, start with a continuous lead around 25m long, 2.5mm² conductors and matching blue three-pin connectors. Check the campsite and vehicle requirements. The cable must be fully unwound and connections kept protected.

Why choose H07RN-F?

H07RN-F is a flexible heavy-duty rubber cable with resistance to abrasion, weather and oil. It is a practical option for frequent handling and repeated outdoor use. Cable type does not increase the capacity of your supply; the conductor size and lead length must suit the load.

Can I use a splitter or site box on a pitch?

Many campsites prohibit hook-up splitters. Check the site rules first. Tent camping needs a purpose-made hook-up unit with appropriate RCD protection. The distribution boxes shown here are for suitable larger managed setups; MCB protection alone does not provide RCD protection.
